Jas is a visual artist based in Texas. They have been a recipient of the University of Houston School of Art Funds and the University of Houston’s Media and The Moving Image Award. Their work has been showcased at Anya Tish Gallery, Sawyer Yards, Alta Arts, and more.
Jas incorporates topics such as environmentalism, hoping to engage viewers on a deeper level, and to inspire them to take action in their own lives. They aim to create work that not only captures the imagination through interdisciplinary methods mixing photography and traditional printmaking, but also serves as a catalyst for positive change in the world.
Jas is continuing to explore interdisciplinary methods in their work to bring awareness of the pressing environmental issues we face today while maintaining their passions for travel and fashion editorial photography, aiming to showcase inclusivity in a fluid and delicate manner in their work.
Jas received their Associate of Applied Science in Editorial and Photojournalism Photography at Austin Community College and Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography and Digital Media at the University of Houston.
